I previously read on some Nightingale Games page that Value Added Tax(es) (VAT) for "War Room" are already covered in the shipping cost. But, the text was not 100% sure about it, taking into account the many countries the game is being delivered to.
So, at this point, is there a more definitive answer for Canadian customers? QML will process my package. Won't the package be flagged for Canadian VATs? In my case it will be the Canadian Goods and Services Tax (GST) and the Quebec Sales Tax (QST or TVQ in French), and probably a customs handling fee.
Is QML using a delivery carrier other than the United States Postal Service (USPS)? Because, the USPS hands off to Canada Post, and Canada Post will surely apply the VATs.
In case it makes a difference, I'm not a Kickstarter backer. I ordered the core game and a slew of extras directly off the Nightingale web store.
In short, we are planning to cover the taxes for Canada. QML has a system for freighting bulk shipment to Canada and then shipping from within Canada. Yes we'll be paying taxes. We are not somehow magically avoiding them.
